Next on Coronation Street - Deidre catches Ken! Monday 8th October 7.30 and 8.30pm http://t.co/VK7Dz8uG

Ken is underwhelmed by a birthday gift and card from Deirdre, who is still keeping schtum about knowing Ken has lied to her. Later, on his own, Ken takes the opportunity to open Wendy's gift. When he calls to thank her, she invites him over. Ken then leaves for Wendy's, telling a suspicious Deirdre that he has another meeting with Brian, while she clocks his new cufflinks.

When Deirdre bumps into Brian and asks him how the meeting was, it's clear that Brian has no idea what Deirdre is talking about and that Ken has lied again. As Deirdre sees Ken head for a cab, she collars Rita who's getting into her car and the pair follow Ken. When Ken arrives at his destination, Deirdre is in for the shock of her life…

Meanwhile, Ryan tries to help out at Sally's by doing some cleaning and cooking supper. A miffed Michele happens to overhear Sally and Ryan discussing his endearing habits, and Michelle feels she's failed as a mother. Later, while Ryan is cooking supper, Tracy turns up. Unimpressed at what he's doing she tries to distract him, but Ryan isn't falling for it and Tracy leaves feeling snubbed. Later, Michelle snaps when she sees Sally and accuses her of trying to come between a mother and her son.

Elsewhere, Jason wonders if Marcus will give him a hand moving the rest of his stuff into Maria's, but his bed is empty. Maria reckons he must have stayed at Aiden's, but she is secretly worried. Her worries mount when Aiden reveals that he and Marcus had a huge row and he stormed off into the night. Later, Marcus calls in the salon to see Maria. He apologises for disappearing all night and suggests they need to talk.

Also, Gail and Nick give Mary a taste of her own medicine by trying to lure the café's customers to the Bistro for bargain breakfasts. Kylie has plans to step up in the world and train as a hairdresser, but can David be convinced?

Deidre Want's answer from Wendy as she pays her a short but sweet visit!

Anne Kirkbride reveals her thoughts about Ken and Deirdre's latest storyline. When Ken takes a school governor role, long-suffering wife Deirdre uncovers he's also secretly meeting her former love-rival from 20 years ago, Wendy Crozier!
Will this dalliance end their marriage or is Deirdre prepared to fight for Ken? Be warned - Anne tells all - including a few spoilers!
Question: Has Deirdre given any thought to Wendy Crozier in the 20 odd years since she split up Deirdre’s marriage to Ken?
Anne: Ken and Deirdre have both made mistakes, maybe Ken’s fling with Martha brought it back to her but they’ve tried to put that behind them and move on. So when Wendy suddenly comes back into their lives it opens a whole can of worms again.
Q: How does she feel about Ken taking on the role of governor at the local school?
Anne: Deirdre insists she doesn’t mind him joining the board, she thinks he’ll love being involved again.
Q: What arouses Deirdre’s suspicions when she collars Brian about the governors meeting going on for so long and Brian pointedly says Ken probably ‘got waylaid’?
Anne: It’s the way that Julie says that Brian’s been back from the meeting for hours, but then Brian says he’s sure Ken’s just been waylaid on official business that arouses suspicion. Deirdre doesn’t like it!
Q: How does she feel when Ken claims he was with Brian and she knows he is lying? Does she suspect he’s having another affair?
Anne: She knows he’s lying and she’s far from happy but she doesn’t know why so she chooses not to let on just yet. I don’t think she jumps to any conclusions straight away.
Q: It’s Ken’s birthday and he’s not impressed with his gift – what does Deirdre give him? Has she made any special plans for his birthday?
Anne: It’s a jumper but she’s not really interested in whether Ken like it or not to be honest, she’s more interested in what he’s up to!
Q: How does she feel when Ken claims he’s got another meeting with Brian – and she clocks that he is wearing new cufflinks?
Anne: Deirdre’s instantly suspicious when she sees Ken all spruced up and wearing the new cufflinks. He claims he’s had them for years but Deirdre’s never seen them and it piques her suspicion even more.
Q: What makes her collar Rita and ask her to take her to follow Ken? Does she tell Rita what she suspects?
Anne: When she spots Ken getting into a cab Deirdre’s frantic. She’s panicked that he’s up to his old tricks again and instructs Rita to follow him.
Q: How does Deirdre react when she sees Ken with Wendy Crozier?
Anne: Deirdre’s gobsmacked and horrified, this is the woman that ruined her marriage 20 years ago and she can’t believe she’s back in their lives. It brings all sorts of emotions flooding back for Deirdre and she starts to wonder how he met her again, or if he ever stopped! She feels sick.
Q: Why doesn’t she confront him there and then?
Anne: She just wants to get out of there and asks Rita to drive her home, she needs time to think, she feels like she’s going mad.
Q: What happens when she confronts Ken on his return home?
Anne: She gives him the opportunity to come clean and realising he’s cornered Ken admits that he’s been with Wendy Crozier. He insists there’s nothing going on and he only met her again due to joining the school governors but Deirdre is furious and far from convinced of his innocence.
Q: There is a lot of history there, what does Deirdre have to say about Wendy and their shared past?
Anne: She tells Tracy it’s like having a bad dream, she doesn’t know what to believe.
Q: How does she feel when Ken insists there is nothing going on between him and Wendy?
Anne: Ken claims it’s all ancient history but for Deirdre the emotions are still raw and it feels like an old wound has been opened.
Q: What makes her decide to go round to see Wendy?
Anne: It’s Tracy who tells her to go and give Wendy hell. Deirdre sets off all guns blazing, determined to get some answers.
Q: How does Wendy react when she sees Deirdre on her doorstep?
Anne: She’s shocked and she clearly doesn’t want a big showdown on her doorstep but Deirdre is blazing and demanding answers.
Q: How does the encounter go? Does Deirdre like what she hears?
Anne: Wendy very calmly tells her they met to discuss a new biomass boiler for the school and that takes the wind out of Deirdre’s sails a bit really. But she gives the cufflinks back to Wendy and orders her to stay away from Ken, it’s a very clear warning and she hopes she’s marked her card.
Q: What ultimatum does Deirdre give to Ken? How does he react?
Anne: She tells him it’s the job or her. Ken’s crushed, he claims he’s rediscovered a part of himself and the role means a lot to him but Deirdre can’t see past Wendy.
Q: How does Deirdre react when Brian tries to get her to let Ken stay on?
Anne: Deirdre’s outraged when Brian puts his two penny worth in. He begs her to reconsider but Deirdre’s not for moving, regardless of whether she trusts Ken or not she’ll never trust Wendy.
Q: Tell us about Rita’s take on the situation. Is she able to help Deirdre’s fears?
Anne: Rita suggests that maybe people can change, she uses Dennis as an example and Deirdre starts to wonder if maybe she has a point, she wants to believe Ken’s changed but the name Wendy Crozier just brings back nightmares.
Q: Will Deirdre let Wendy come between them again or fight to keep Ken?
Anne: Ken and Deirdre have been through so much together she’s determined not to let Wendy come between them like she did 20 years ago. She doesn’t trust Wendy and she makes it clear to Ken that she’ll be watching them like a hawk.
Q: If Deirdre and Ken were to split up over Wendy would that be the final nail in the coffin for their marriage?
Anne: She makes it clear to Ken that if anything goes on with Wendy they’ll be done with for good!
Q: Do you think Ken and Deirdre can ever just be happy together and stop letting their eyes wander?
Anne: At the heart of it Ken and Deirdre are destined to be together, they’ve been through so much but whether they actually ever realise that is another thing though!
Q: Can you see Deirdre launching herself into a classic Corrie cat-fight with Wendy?
Anne: Well Wendy pushes all Deirdre’s buttons so maybe she’s not too old for a catfight on the cobbles just yet!
Q: What does the future hold for Ken and Deirdre?
Anne: Who knows, whatever the writers come up with next although I’m sure it will never be plain sailing for Ken and Deirdre!
