As the dark nights draw in and the residents of Weatherfield bid farewell to the summer, storm clouds are gathering for some of Corrie’s best loved couples.
The cobbles are set to be rocked by some devastating developments, with trouble on the horizon for these five sets of star-crossed lovers...
Tina and Tommy
Ever since Tina agreed to act as surrogate for Izzy and Gary a strain has been put on her relationship with Tommy. Despite Tina’s actions solving their debt crisis Tommy has struggled to come to terms with the thought of Tina carrying someone else’s baby. In the coming months that possibility becomes reality and as news of Tina’s pregnancy spreads can Tommy deal with the inevitable questions and problems this unusual situation will create?
Marcus and Maria
When Maria had her breast cancer scare the first person she turned to was gay best friend Marcus, and when she was given the all clear the celebrations took an unexpected turn when the pair found themselves in a passionate embrace. Desperate to put the kiss down as a mistake the couple do their best to move on with their respective partners - but is it easy as that or have they got genuine feelings for each other?
Leanne and Nick
Life has settled down for Nick and Leanne as they try to make a stable home for young Simon and Nick is thrilled when Leanne finally gets her divorce papers through. But it soon becomes clear that Leanne doesn’t share his delight. When Leanne’s sister and Nick’s jealous ex-squeeze Eva discovers that there may be trouble in paradise she hatches a plan to make it work in her favour - is this the end for Nick and Leanne?
Kirsty and Tyrone
Tyrone had hoped that the arrival of baby Ruby would mean the end of Kirsty’s temper and the abuse that she has been dishing out for months now. But after the initial period of calm evil Kirsty is back and this time she means business. Having registered Ruby’s birth without putting Tyrone’s name on the birth certificate Kirtsy has the upper hand, Tyrone knows that if he walks out he will never see his daughter again, but can he stay with a woman who makes him fear for his life?
Michelle and Steve
On/off lovers Steve and Michelle have had to battle their fare share of problems as they try to make a go of their relationship second time around. But with toxic cougar Tracy determined to make life difficult by dating Michelle’ son Ryan, and Steve desperate to get shut of his ex wife once and for all, has he taken his eye off the ball with Michelle? In typical Steve style he is bound to mess up again and with Rob Donovan waiting in the wings could Steve be unlucky in love once more?
