Charlie Condou mocks 'Daily Star' over lovechild story

Charlie Condou has mocked the Daily Star for printing a story claiming he has secret love children, when he has spoken openly about his kids before.

The gay actor, who plays Marcus Dent in the ITV soap, has welcomed two children through IFV and also wrote a weekly column for The Guardian on the subject of same-sex parenting.

The Daily Star's frontpage for Thursday's (August 22) edition reads "CORRIE STAR'S SHOCK SECRET LOVE CHILDREN". Condou has tweeted his reaction to the tabloid's story, as seen below:

Co-star Jack P Shepherd, who plays David Platt, also joked about the cover on Twitter:

Condou has previously said of being a gay parent: "Almost everyone was fine with the idea of it apart from a couple of my gay friends. Someone asked me why I was trying to fit into a heterosexual stereotype.

"I thought I was doing the opposite, proving we can do it, too. It doesn't have to be them or us."
