The Corrie Years - Countdown

The Corrie Years will air at 7.30pm Wednesday the 22nd August 2012, with a bumper episode of scenes from the past and the present, the new series starts 5th September 2012.

#TheCorrieYears will take a look back at the memorable moments of the cobbles, and how they've changed and takes a look back at the biggest storyline's in soap history!

Ken and Deidre are usually the highlights of the show- as they were the world's most famous on screen couple back in the day. Anne Kirkbride and William Roache will star in the 6 part documentary.

America also has a love for Coronation Street- as ABC once aired a one-off Corrie episode- of when Deidre was locked up for fraud. The Nation was trying to save Deidre- as the Sun Papers made it a bigger story than some of the other ones.

Corrie bet a royal documentary in ratings

Julie Goodyear in #CBB: Secret to come out?

Former Coronation Street star Julie Goodyear has hinted she might discuss some of her past conquests – male and female – while appearing on Celebrity Big Brother.
Ms Goodyear, 70, who is bisexual, told the Daily Star some of her former lovers include famous politicians and fellow Thespians.
The actress, who played Bet Lynch in Coronation Street for 25 years (with brief comebacks in 2002 and 2003), told the paper: “There are people in positions of power who came onto me. The things they wanted to do with me were unbelievable.
“I would get letters with locks of hair in them. Then when I read the letters I’d realise the hair wasn’t from their heads.”
Ms Goodyear is currently married to 44-year-old Scott Brand, who she met when he started a romantic vigil outside her home, lasting for days.
Speaking about her bisexuality, Goodyear said that it was as much a surprise to her as to anyone else.
She met a woman in a club shortly after divorcing her second husband and embarked on a relationship with her. She said: “We started going out. Our three-year relationship became like a marriage.”
She added that her “wild past” was exactly that and that these days, her 40-a-day cigarette habit was her only vice.

Interview With Chris Fountain (@Fountain1987)

We interviewed Corrie legend Tommy Duckworth aka Chris Fountain via DM On Twitter.
Here are our questions and Chris's replies.

Q: What do you think of the storyline?

Think its been brill. Brilliant to film & brilliant to act. Loving it.

Q: What risks will Tommy take to make sure his best friend Terone is protected from Kirsty.

Anything. Lol. He and Tee will do anything they can to save him

Q: Will Tyrone finally realise what a mistake he's making by getting back with Kirsty?

Deffo. Sooner or later- after all the rows & drama to come. Ha.

Q: So, Kirstys back this week and Tommy wants her to come back to the cobbles- what happens?

Can't say ;). But it's going to make soap history the whole storyline will make history.

Q: Will Tina & Tommy still be together after all the drama?

Can't answer that- by my writing I'm sure you know the answer.. Yep. They will:) #Tomina

Q: What risks is Tommy willing to take- a blow to the head by Kirsty?

He'll do what it takes.

Q: How well do you think Natalie Gumede is playing her character

Don't need to answer that- everyone knows she plays it AMAZINGLY :)

Q: Does Tommy have a crash- don't tell us the ins and outs just one answer, Yes or No?

Yep (-:

Q: So- now we have that in our heads- will Tommy survive...

Ah. Yes, he will- but its all Kirstys fault for whatever trauma happens ;D

Q: Did you know #Tomina is a big hit on Facebook? Over 50K People have joined a page to support you & Tina.

No! But wow.!

Thanks for talking to us Chris.

Nigel Havers 'Not To Be Killed Off'

Nigel Havers has reportedly put an end to speculation that he is leaving Coronation Street by signing a new contract.

The acclaimed actor, who plays ex-gigolo Lewis Archer on the ITV soap, was rumoured to be departing Weatherfield after he signed up for a pantomime.

A subsequent report in June claimed that Lewis would be killed off in a road accident, but Corrie producer Phil Collinson has since ruled out such a storyline in an interview with Digital Spy earlier this month.

Should the Rovers be blown up?

As we saw, Digital Spy posted a story on the soaps section- allowing Corrie fans to think they should blow up the Rovers. Why they would start a rumour to blow up the UK's favourite pub, is beyond me.

Read http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s3/coronation-street/news/a400560/coronation-street-should-the-rovers-be-blown-up-poll.html

They set up the story because some reason Digital Spy seem to have a problem with Coronation Street- and allow hate comments to be posted. I posted a comment saying 'Yes can not wait' and was removed by DS Control. Only negative comments have been approved on the post.
On all the EastEnders posts their are all 'Nice' comments. I tried to post it on both my accounts, akagken2 and corriefan. neither worked and was removed.

So- can we get some real replies?
From Corrie fans- which are trying to post nice things on the 'Should The Rovers be blown up' post on the DS Soaps section.

Here are some emails we relived this evening

PaulInBloom202@hotmail.co.uk said

"No. Rovers shouldn't be blown up- and for one reason.
It's the nations favourite soap and everyone would stop watching the soap if they blew up such a memorable
pub!"

KatrinaLGraham1@googlemail.com said

"no. should it b*lls.
corrie is good entertainment and the rovers just makes corrie!,"

LouiseHoward5@yahoo said

"No way. Corrie wouldn't be the same without it. I love the soap and everytime the rovers comes on screen- its just like 'this is the corrie feeling' dont blow it up!"

We recieved over 40 Emails similar to ones like these.

We've been trying to figure out why DS won't remove the negative comments and allow the good ones.
