Gary is still coming to terms with the loss of his and Izzy's baby when Katy makes him a stunning offer - to be a surrogate for the devastated couple.
After she and Chesney ask him to be godfather to baby Joseph, caring Katy sees how desperate Gary is to be a father and offers to help.
He's keen but Izzy takes some convincing, but before they can all talk to Chesney, an angry Owen wants to know what's going on and confronts Gary at the church during baby Joseph's christening ceremony. As the secret comes out, the two families lock horns over the shock plan.
Mikey North, who plays Gary, said: "They are at loggerheads with each other and all hell breaks loose.
